Easter is near and how better to celebrate than making some DIY goodies with the kids in the kitchen. These quick and easy recipes are delicious and great for entertaining or giving away as a little gift for family and friends. Your kids friends will love them.
Marshmallow Easter Bunnies
Looking for a quick + easy recipe this Easter well look no further than the traditional Marshmallow Bunnies, all you need is 2 teaspoons of gelatin powder, 60 ml hot water, 60 ml cold water and 125 g sugar. Now to put them all together…
Method
1. Put sugar and cold water into a bowl and beat on high speed for 2-3 minutes.
2. Dissolve gelatine in hot water and while still hot add to the sugar mixture and beat until thick and white.
3. Pour into sprayed rabbit molds. Then Refrigerate until set.
4. Toss in coconut.
If you would like pink bunnies just add red food colouring, creating the pink colour.

Squares Marshmallow Treat
Marshmallows and rice bubbles, what a delight – a little slice of heaven on earth. The yare light, fluffy and a little sticky but we all love a Marshmallow square or two at Easter time. All you need is 250 gram vanilla and raspberry marshmallows, 90 gram unsalted butter – coarsely chopped, 4 cup (140g) rice bubbles and 155 gram rainbow chocolate chips.
Method
1. Grease a 20cm x 30cm rectangular pan; line base and long sides with baking paper, extending paper 5cm over sides.
2. Combine marshmallows and butter in medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until smooth.
3. Place rice bubbles and half the rainbow chocolate chips in a large bowl. Add marshmallow mixture, mix well.
4. Using wet hand, press mixture firmly into pan, then sprinkle with remaining rainbow chocolate chips. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm before cutting.

Easter Candy Bark
Rich, sweet and very Eastery, beautifully crafted candy bark. All you need is candy melts, chocolate or vanilla is fine and your choice of some candy’s (m&ms, sprinkles, oreos crushed or reeses).
Method
1. Melt package of candy coating in a small pot on low heat – stirring constantly until all melted. Pour over a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
2. Sprinkle on crushed oreos, M&Ms and sprinkles.
3. Place in fridge for 30-60 minutes until the candy is set.
4. Break into pieces (whatever size you desire).
Please note:
Most candy barks are typically broken into uneven pieces, but if you want to try and cut even squares all you need is a hot knife. Grab a sharp kitchen knife and dip it in hot water. Wipe the blade and cut. Reheat the blade as needed.

Cookie Dough Easter Eggs
These eggs are almost too cute to eat. Cookie dough and white chocolate melted could anything be as good as that?
All you need is 3/4 cup of peanut butter, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cup crushed Arnott’s Marie biscuits, 1/4 tsp. sea salt or sea salt flakes, 3 tbsp. whole milk, 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips and 2 cup white chocolate, melted (divided into three bowls). Then make sure you also have Pastel food coloring and rainbow sprinkles for decoration.
Method
1. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat peanut butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Mix in Arnott’s Marie biscuits, salt and milk, then fold in chocolate chips.
2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough and shape it into an egg shape. Place on baking sheet and repeat with remaining cookie dough mixture. Freeze until solid, about 1 hour.
3. When the cookie dough eggs are frozen, divide the white chocolate chips between three small microwave-safe bowls. Microwave white chocolate chips for 30-second intervals until chocolate has melted. Dye each bowl of melted white chocolate with a different pastel food coloring.
4. Dunk each cookie dough egg into melted chocolate, alternating between the three colors. Drizzle with more melted chocolate and top with sprinkles. Let set for 10 minutes, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Bunny Hug Cookies
The cutest cookie – the bunny hug cookie.
All you need 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for surface), 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. sea salt,1 cups (2 sticks) butter-softened, 1 cup sugar, a large egg, 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract, 1 tbsp. milk, a pack of Cadbury Mini Eggs and a gingerbread cookie cutter.
Method
1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. In a large bowl using a hand mixer beat butter and sugar until fluffy and pale in color.
3. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and beat until combined, then add flour mixture gradually until totally combined.
4. Shape into a disc shape and wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 1 hour.
5. When ready to roll, preheat oven to 180 degrees. Lightly flour a clean work surface and roll out dough.
6. Cut out gingerbread shapes (upside-down, they will be bunnies!) and transfer to parchment-lined baking sheets.
7. Place a mini Cadbury egg into the center of the arms and gently place arms around the edges of the egg. (They won’t wrap around the egg completely). Use a toothpick to poke eyes and nose.
8. Bake until edges are lightly golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
